When a child or young person has a serious or life-threatening illness, the whole family faces great challenges. Caring for the sick family member ties up all their energy, often for many years. In addition to the many problems and fears, there are financial difficulties, as parents are often forced to limit their professional activities. Siblings suffer because they often no longer get the attention. The children's hospice and family visiting service of Caritas stands by the families and helps unbureaucratically.

Aristo Pharma has been cooperating with the Caritas Children's Hospice and Family Visiting Service since 2018. Together we organise a wish list tree campaign in which critically ill children and their siblings make wish lists that hang on the colourfully decorated Christmas tree at Aristo Pharma's Berlin headquarters. This year, we received 29 lovingly designed wish lists from the children, which Aristo Pharma employees fulfilled. From vouchers and books to backpacks and Lego, there were all kinds of wishes, which we delivered to Berlin's Caritas on 15 December 2022. For the official handover at the Caritas Children's Hospice and Family Visiting Service in Berlin, all colleagues who took part in this year's wish list tree campaign had the opportunity to be there. In addition to a nice breakfast with Caritas staff and affected families with their children, we were given a tour of the new premises of the family visiting service. "A place of encounters" - according to Mrs Danlowski, director of the association - a room to move and play, an art room and a room to come to rest and pray. And finally: the handing over of gifts, which the children could hardly wait for. With this experience and a lot of gratitude, we look forward to the next Wish List Tree year!
